Halcyon Days Reviews

Sam
We stayed at this place for a lads getaway and honestly, it was spot on. The four bedrooms were super comfy, each with their own clean, cosy ensuite-one even had a jacuzzi bathtub which I'd really recommend trying. The kitchen was modern and spacious, perfect for cooking up a stormand the living/dining area felt really relaxing. The porch was great for evening drinksand the hot tub with that lovely lake view was just the cherry on top. They also left us a nice welcome pack with tea, coffee, biscuitsand milk, which was a nice touch. Plus, the nearby spa and plenty of sights made the trip even better. Definitely a top choice for a fun holiday!
Emma
We had a decent stay overall. The location's pretty good, close to lots of places and handy for shopping in Wadebridge. The house was quite spacious, though the stairs might be tricky for older folks. It'd be helpful if it was clearer that two rooms are twins and don't have a view. The deck was wet and not really used, plus we're not hot tub fans-especially with the noise at night from neighbours. Still, it suited us for a wedding trip.
Alex
We had high hopes for this place, especially since the location looked perfect for a family beach holiday. The site itself is lovely, with easy access to the coast and plenty of other lodges around, so that part was great. Sadly, our experience with the house, Halcyon Days, was quite disappointing considering the price we paid for the week. When we arrived, the house was not at all what we expected. The cleaners were late and didn't seem to do a decent job; the place was actually pretty filthy - dust, dog hair, cobwebs everywhereand no cleaning products in sight. We ended up going to the shop ourselves, buying bleach, bin bagsand clothsand spent the first hour cleaning. Not exactly what you want after a long journey! The jacuzzi was another issue - the patio slabs around it were loose and quite dangerous. The BBQ was left with old food on it, which was a bit off-putting. Both balconies and patio furniture needed a proper clean too. A few days before we left, we received a message saying the lakeside view and access were fenced off, but no explanation was given even after we asked - we're still not sure why. The grass outside wasn't cut either, thanks to the fencing blocking entry. Overall, for a family celebrating a special birthday, we were pretty let down. The house feels neglected and in need of a good renovation, especially in the communal areas. I'd say the site itself is lovely, but avoid Halcyon Days until they sort out these issues.
Emma
Great spot, well-maintained, lovely surroundings, definitely coming back soon!
Alex Turner
Great neighbourhood, the house was cosy and nicely maintained.
Emma
We stayed for a week and everyone, from kids to adults, really loved the place. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, which was handy. The hot tub was a real highlightand being a bit away from the busy resort made it feel super private and relaxing. Having the gym and pool onsite was perfect, especially when the weather was dull. All in all, a great stay and good value-we'd definitely return!

We had an amazing stay at Halcyon Days. The house is stunning, super cleanand well-equipped with all the high-quality essentials. It's nestled by a peaceful lake, which is lovely, though it can get quite breezy. Luckily, the hot tub is perfect for warming up. The resort itself offers loads-swimming pool, sauna, steam room, flowriderand even a restaurant and spa. We're already planning our next visit. Thanks so much for having us, we loved every minute!
Emma
Honestly, our stay had its ups and downs. The place wasn't as clean as we hoped - the cutlery drawer was pretty grimyand there was rubbish left beside the house when we arrived. Some sheets were quite stained too, which was a bit off-putting. The upstairs twin room's shower was a bit of a nightmare since the temperature control was broken, so we had to be careful with hot water. The kitchen equipment was pretty sparse for an 8-person cottage; the oven was tricky to use because of hot spots, so we had to watch our food closely to prevent burning. The fridge was a bit of a let-down - iced up and tiny for the size of the place, which made storing food a hassle and risked freezing stuff at the back. One of the dining chairs was falling apart, which wasn't ideal. Also, it would have been handy if the zip-linked super king beds could be split into twins. Still, we did have a lovely weekend overalland the welcome pack with tea, coffeeand cleaning supplies was a nice touch.
