Birchenhayes Reviews

What a hidden gem this lodge is. Spacious with everything you need, beautiful inside and out with views to die for! Owners were on hand with whatever we needed, even left us essentials such as milk, butter, breakfast items and little treats for us all to enjoy for Easter. Hope to return again in the near future
We were absolutely delighted with our stay at Birchenhayes. The accommodation is fabulous in an idyllic location and seemed to easily accommodate 8 people. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we could have possibly needed and there is ample storage in the bedrooms. The place was spotlessly clean and warm and cosey. We will definitely return!

Birchenhayes is a lovely remote property but close enough to all the places to visit in the area. It ticked all our boxes and the owners Helen & Andrew are on hand to quickly rectify any minor issues ie faulty toaster adjustments to the jacuzzi and are also respectful of privacy. The property is stunning and we were very happy spending time just enjoying the wonderful views. Highly recommended. Thank you
The property was stunning. All rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. The huge gardens were well maintained and great to explore. The owners were lovely, not too intrusive but happy to help if needed. The hot tub is a great bonus. Birchenhayes was perfect in every way.
We had an excellent family holiday in this beautifully appointed barn conversion in a tranquil location. There was plenty of space for 6 adults and 3 children under 5. The ponds were an attraction rather than a problem. We enjoyed the welcome pack with treats and essentials. We would have appreciated more seating for eating in the kitchen as we had small children. Also a bigger cafetiere!

An absolutely superb property, the photos dont do it justice. The kitchen and living space are second to none and the garden is fabulous. The property is whisper quiet, you cant hear anything from any roads, just the birds and the breeze. The welcome hamper was the best we have ever received and we were even invited to pick cherries from the surrounding trees. 5 stars.
Once again we had a restful holiday the only thing that spoiled it was the British weather. However, even that was kind enough to wait until the evening. Unfortunately, that impacted on the use of the hottub. I would recommend this property to anyone. The owners were kind and left an lovely welcome package. I can recommend the Sausages and bacon.

We had an amazing time, and cannot speak highly enough about Helen and Andrew, our hosts , they were so helpful and also went above and beyond to help us , as my husband depends on oxygen. All went very smoothly, and they also left us a fabulous welcome hamper. Thank you so much Helen and Andrew. The property itself is totally stunning, very spacious and the views are very panoramic and it is very tranquil. Would definitely like to go back sometime. 1010

We loved our stay at Birchenhayes. The house was spotlessly clean, all the rooms are spacious and the views are amazing. Helen was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and even left us some arrival treats which was a nice surprise.
Lovely family home in an amazing setting, with lovely hosts

Arriving at Birchenhaze was really special. A long winding driveway down from the small country lane and you are greeted with spectacular views across the valley. The barn is an exceptional conversion with no expense spared. On entering, it smelt really nice and clean, and it was. It was immaculate throughout the property and it had everything you could need. Helen and Andrew really lovely hosts had left us a complimentary pack including scones with clotted cream and jam, Prosecco, milk, bread, eggs, bacon, sausages etc. and all local high quality produce. There's no shortage of comfortable seating both inside and out with a fantastic hot tub. Looking down the garden and across the valley there is a lovely pond. This is a great feature but they are currently making into something really special. They have created another pond down the hill with a waterfall running to it and are creating a further area down from that with another waterfall. We will definitely be going back to see this when it's finished. The peace and quiet of Birchenhaze was just what we wanted but it is also the perfect place to use a base to visit the rest of Cornwall or Devon. We can't fault the barn is any way and we would love to go back as alluded to.
A Lovely, beautifullyappointed house. Perfect for a peaceful break in quiet countryside but still close enough to amenities. Kingsand beach & Looe not far away for some nice beach days. We had a lovely stay & would recommend.
Helen and Andrew were a great couple and so easy to chat to. The property Birchenhayes is outstanding and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The hot tub was a huge hit with everyone especially the grandsons and the view whilst sitting out couldn't be faulted. We were all very fed up when it was time to leave. Linda Slater and party. Thank you Helen and Andrew ps. The welcome groceries and cake was a lovely added touch.

An absolute gem of a place to stay. The barn is beautiful in a wonderful setting. The owners live close by, but are in no way intrusive, and yet so happy to help. The barn has everything you could ever consider thank you for a fabulous holiday.
Andrew
A gorgeous holiday home in a quiet valley, surrounded by countryside and trees. We had a memorable holiday in this luxurious house and would happily return for another visit. Nothing to complain about at all. I would highly recommend this beautiful home for a peaceful week or two in Cornwall.
Melanie
Wow!! STOP !! Look no further if you are looking for an absolutely amazing place in Cornwall, to kick back and relax! I cannot rate this place high enough, the beautiful surroundings, the peace and quiet, the thought and detail that has gone in to providing you, with a home away from home. Everything you need, and more, is supplied. The welcome pack was very highly received. Produce from the local community shop, which we purchased more of to bring home! The hot tub was a welcome addition, and very relaxing to come back to, after our days out. We used the outside BBQ, which was simple to use. The rooms are all decorated to a very high standard, and the beds were all very comfortable. We ate out at the local pub, The Who'd of thought it Inn, and the food there was delicious, so well worth a visit! Birchenhayes really is a slice of heaven, tucked away, in rolling hills, in the beautiful Cornish countryside The owners are absolutely wonderful and we cannot thank them enough, for their generosity xx We will most definitely be returning in the future
Yvonne
