4 Faraway Fields Reviews

Crystal
I booked this lodge as a surprise for my partner for his birthday. It was perfect. Everything as it looks on the pictures. I spoke with Laura a few times who was just lovely, I wanted a few things set up as a little extra surprise and she was able to sort this and it was there all lovely and done when we arrived a lovely touch, bit pricey on top of what you pay, but for an occasion you cant complain! Not an awful lot around, but a Morrisons for shopping food a 6 min drive, Newquay and Plymouth are about 40 min drive, but Plymouth is 25 on the train. Looe about 20 minutes away, which is a lovely little town! Its quite a private lodge, own little garden and dont see or hear much of anyone else! All round lovely place for a couple. Highly recommend.
Extremely clean, very well presented and well maintained. Spent the days walking and the evenings in the hot tub, whats not to like!!

There was a continuous nasty smell though out our stay, even opening the windows it didn't completely go away. The kitchen and bedroom was well equipped, however the shower was very small. The Lodge was very private and not overlooked.
This was our 2nd stay at 4 Faraway fields as we loved it so much last year, however after this year we will not be returning due to its cleanliness. There were staines on the sofa and carpet which we could accept, but what I couldn't accept was a dirty toilet. I had to clean the previous guests wee from around the bottom of the toilet seat myself. There were also bits from a torn tennis ball all over the patio from previous guests dog along with lots of white dog hair in the living area and under dining table which also has crumbs left on it. The skirting boards were dusty and windows not cleaned. When this was mentioned in an email with photo evidence, I was told they were sorry it didnt meet MY standards! These are advertised as luxury lodges and are also very expensive so I would have hoped at the very least they were clean. Sykes cottages did later apologise to me and said they would show the cleaning team the photos. For me it was a very expensive stay in a not so luxury lodge.

We have stayed here twice before this stay, the most beautiful comfortable and clean lodges. Equipped with everything you need. The only disappointment was no sun loungers which have always previously been provided and the pictures of the properties show loungers on roof decking and gardens. I did speak to reception and they said they would look into getting us some but sadly they didn't come back to us and none were provided. We had beautiful weather so we were disappointed. Also be aware if you have a dog and visit in July and August there are many restrictions on the beaches.
This is a pure gem of the Cornish countryside we was greeted on arrival by Sally who made us feel welcome, heading to our lodge. It was very obvious the highly maintained site, when arriving at our lodge we were very pleased with our booking. It was surrounded by high edges which left it very private and looking amazing. Walking in to the lodge it was spotless and very modern looking, there was a nice and informative greeting pack, a point of milk in the fridge on a small welcome box with coffee tea and a few of a little bits which will help you to start relaxing from the moment youre walking. The site is quite rural but not too far from your main town Looe 20 minute drive and a few main supermarkets about 15 minutes drive. This was truly a wonderful place and would highly recommend to get away from cities life.
We've just returned from a weekend stay at 4 Faraway Fields and can't recommend it highly enough. The Lodge was beautiful and in the most perfectly peaceful location. We had visiting baby bunnies every morning and were awoken by bird chorus, it was like something out of a fairytale. It may have been our first stay, but it definitely won't be our last!
A lovely stay at 4 Faraway Fields. On the whole, the property was clean and tidy but is starting to show its age a little. The wall in the kitchen could do with a freshen up, theres some damaged plaster behind the radiator in the bathroom, and the bath tap needs tightening. The hot tub could be cleaner, and unfortunately there was an unpleasant drain smell that kept coming back over the course of our stay. The living area carpet could do with a deep clean too. However, the decor really is lovely and its nice to have so much space around the lodge so it isnt overlooked in the slightest. We would definitely return but would hope that these issues would be sorted so it looks like the photos again.
Absolutely love the place been 3 times so far and ready to book again for later in year. So peaceful and relaxing
Charlene
Overall we had a lovely stay at 4 Faraway Fields. It was exactly what we needed a real home from home. The only thing we found slightly disappointing was the cleanliness of the hot tub. The last time we went which was a couple of years ago the hot tub and the water was pristine. This time the water was murky and the hot tub had debris in it.
Very happy, we had a lovely stay. Would return and highly recommend.

A lovely week in Cornwall staying at Southern Halt. ..the site is immaculate, no.4 Faraway Fields is arguably one of, if not the most private & secluded of all the lodges...having looked at many properties online whilst deciding where to book, i think this was really well priced when compared to other, similar properties elsewhere for the week we stayed..would definitely stay here again!
Had a wonderful break and loved the birthday balloons and bubbles. Thank you so much. Although we did not meet anyone in person due to our arrival time, we received a call to ensure everything was perfect. Would not hesitate to recommend and will be back. Thank you
We had a lovely time! The Lodge was fantastic, the hot tub was serviced every day without any intrusion on our stayprivacy and staff at reception were very welcoming and looked after us well. Very helpful and friendly, too Overall, would definitely recommend and looking forward to going back there! Thank you for an amazing time!
We absolutely loved our stay would definitely come again. We have never seen our dog so happy she loved every second. Very secluded area so nice for a quiet break away. Jacuzzi bath was divine and so was the hot tub. Only issue we had was with the washerdryer wasn't sure if we were doing something wrong but never managed to dry our clothes as it came up with an error. You had everything you need for your stay it's was incredible!
Scarlett
We had the BEST Christmas break at 4 Faraway Fields. It was the perfect relaxation spot to hideaway in. The property came with everything you need and we truly relaxed, the hot tub was spot on! The reception team are incredibly helpful and checked in on us regularly to make sure things were up to par. The hot tub team, were really friendly and efficient, they even worked Christmas Day! There are just a few little things that would make it even better, for us but they wouldnt stop us coming back. A coffee machinecafeteria for us coffee snobs. A bigger bed it was comfy, were just used to a super king my husband is very tall!. The sofa probably needs new cushions or replacing fairly soon, it could have been a bit more comfortable. Thank you for having us we loved it!
Harriet
We couldnt fault this place, we stayed for 5 days and didnt want to leave. The lodge itself was perfect, extremely clean and Had everything we needed. Definitely will return. Hot tub was tested each day also. Thank you for such an amazing stay.
Charlotte
We really enjoyed our stay here, already looking to book our next stay.
Philip
Second time we have stayed in this property and was as good as it was the first time. Was really comfortable and easy ro relax in after a day exploring Cornwall. The hot tub was great and had a great choice of appliances to make it a home from home for the week.
Miranda
Beautiful lodge. Lovely and quiet and secluded. We loved having the high bushes all around and our own private garden. It was great for our dog too.
Stephen
Great stay despite weather. Staff very good area quiet and relaxing.
Amazing lodge lives up to all expectations and the staff on site was more than ... Amazing lodge lives up to all expectations and the staff on site was more than helpful could not find one fault with this place and look forward to going back in the not too distant future
Wow oh wow! ! me and my partner stayed here for his 28th birthday and we had the best time! the site is absolutely beautiful, can not fault it and the owners were so lovely. I told them it was my partners birthday and they put balloons up and left a card, very thoughtful! beautiful property, beautiful site, and amazing location will definitely be staying again!
Beautiful lodge, perfect location, spotlessly clean, very little road noise. Very private even though its on a park with other lodges. Nice bit of ground around to walk the dog in the evening.
We loved our stay at this beautiful lodge. It was warm and cosy and had everything that you needed. My only negative comment was that that the rain would come through the covered hot tub. But overall we enjoyed our stay and didnt want to go home. I would book again!
Michael
We had a wonderful stay. Our cabin was great. Very clean and modern with everything needed for our stay. The park is very nice and well maintained. Our cabin in particular provided perfect privacy and the sheltered hot tub was wonderful to use of an evening after long days exploring the countryside, even in the rain. Would most definitely be coming back again!
Second time we have stayed. Lovely accommodation. Very clean and modern and has everything you need. Good base to local sites. We mentioned on our last visit a towel hook would be useful in the toilet, we still think that would be helpful. Everything else fantastic
Property was fabulous!
THE PROPERTY WAS WELL MAINTAINED,VERY CLEAN, EXCELLENT LOCATION. WE DID THINK THE CABIN NUMBER SHOULD BE MOVED FROM THE BACK TO FRONT BY STEPS SO AS YOU CAN SEE YOU ARE AT THE RIGHT CABIN WHEN YOU ARRIVE. A PLASTIC JUG WOULD OF BEEN USEFUL AS WELL.OTHER THAN THOSE TWO POINTS WE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME THERE. THE HOT TUB WAS A GREAT BONUS TO THE HOLIDAY.
Great stay at 4 Faraway Fields. Great facilities, clean and comfortable. Lovely decking, nice and secluded and great hot tub. Would benefit from table and chairs on the rear decking outside of kitchen area but perfect other than that. Would certainly return.
