Sparrows Nest, St Ives

Thanks for truly memorable stay at Sparrows Nest. Fabulous views. Wonderful walks directly from the door, and easy walk to both Caribs Bay and St. Ives. Incredibly comfortable house to stay in, the best night sleep! Fluffy towels, great places to chill, roof tops views and fabulous hot tub after a long walk perfect!

Excellent property as described, comfortable beds, beautiful views. We found a safe walk down to st.ives along Hain walk. Steep but easily manageable as 2 young families. Extremely dog friendly. So well equipped, every single utensil you could ever think of! We were all verbally impressed. Kids loved the cinema room & hot tub in particular. I think my only criticism would be the amount of dishwasher tablets & laundry tablets left 2. Usually there are 7 of each left or more, particularly when its a big property. It would also have been good to leave 2 loo rolls per bathroom.

Three generations of family stayed at this beautiful house in a beautiful spot. Other guests have commented on accessibility to beaches in St Ives & Carbis Bay. Quite challenging hills for the older generation to return to Sparrows Nest, although the main road to & from St Ives lies just behind the house with a bus stop close at hand. We tried the local pub 4 min walk The Cornish Arms on Quiz Night Weds & it was full of locals & holiday makers all partaking in the quiz. Lovely atmosphere. Kitchen very well equipped & appliances easy to use. Dining area & open plan area is great for this sort of holiday. The Cinema room was a big winner with the family for the evenings. Very comfortable for all too! Good bedrooms & fantastic roof terrace which sadly we had little opportunity to use in view of the weather. Very photogenic though. The hot tub was used daily & super. It was checked at least twice during our stay in the early morning. We didnt try the outside fire pit. Great grounds for a family & dog. Our only suggestions for improvements would be easy at hand in the information folder provided instructions re recycling. We failed to find any in the house & ended up taking the recycling items by car to the facility behind St Erth station. As for general rubbish, the wheelie bin provided was already overfull on our arrival & there were several bin bags also awaiting disposal. None of this was removed during our stay. That aside we all had a super week in your beautiful home. Thank you x

Absolutely amazing property for a 2 family holiday. The Sparrows nest had plenty of space so we all had our own space, amazing communal space and everything you could ever need. The best part is the views especially from the 2nd floor . The walk into either st ives or carbis bay via Hains walk was fantastic and we choose to get a mini bus taxi back for a mere 6 so whats not to love. We would love to visit again next year and have highly recommended Sparrows nest to our friends so expect some further bookings .

Lovely stay, we cannot recommend Sparrows Nest enough! We loved the cinema room and roof to terrace, although we didn't get much opportunity to use it due to the weather! The hot tub is excellent even in the rain! Even the outdoor shower was great fun.

Fabulous location for a family gathering, with good parking and walkable for able bodied visitors, though taxis are readily available too.

Fabulous time staying here. Lovely house love the sofas in the TV room! St Ives is beautiful, enjoyed watching the surfers. A1 Taxi's were great at bringing us home. Would definitely come back.

We had the most amazing time in this fabulous house. It's so lovely, with everything you could possibly need. The view was fantastic and the fire pit was brilliant. Your house is able to provide so many memories for their guests. Thank you hosts!!

As a group celebrating a family members milestone birthday, we had a fab time. We found the house to be very comfortable and offering everything we needed and more. Close to the local pub and a leisurely 20 minutes walk into St Ives although longer back as its uphill. There was plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the different levels and viewpoints. The terrace on the top floor offered the most spectacular views of Carbis Bay and way beyond. We used the BBQ, fire pit and the hot tub, not bad for March. Truthfully we found the smart lighting difficult to master with so many variations and switches and did find the main living area too bright even on relaxed lighting, we would have preferred a nice floor lamp option. That said the owners have a beautiful home and we all enjoyed it immensely. A few queries were answered straight away by the owners which was reassuring, however on reporting a few broken things found ie toilet roll holders hanging off of walls , it seems these were supposed to have been remedied by the management company already, but obviously not done the one critic we have found with Sykes before, faults reported and mentioned in reviews and when staying in a property finding they are the same. I've had a really wonderful time in a house that has everything and more with all my family for my 80th birthday. The dog loved the garden, especially while we were in the hot tub!! We have had a week of dry weather and think we have been very very lucky. The views outside the house were really lovely for me! We would all love to come back and make more memories.

We have had a great time at Sparrows Nest! It had everything we needed and have loved every minute. We spent evenings in the cinema room which was our favourite part. The views from this place is incredible and it is in a great location! We will never forget this amazing trip and have made some great memories.

We really loved our stay. The place was clean, modern and well laid out. It was well equipped and even the kitchen has everything you need and plenty of it. We had a few issues which were resolved very quickly and the staff we spoke to were very polite and helpful. There was plenty of space in and out of the property. Prefect location to st Ives town and nearby Carbis bay. If you dont mind walking as it is very hilly both places on the way back but definitely worth it. If not its only a 2 minute drive and I think there is a bus stop just up the road. Also the nearby supermarket is very useful too. All of our guests loved their stay and would definitely be going again. To top it all the views were breathtaking.

Very luxurious property, but some aspects preferred style and technology over practicality. Lack of bath mats, and vinyl flooring often led to slippy bathrooms, complex lighting and sound systems led to hours reading manuals to get things to work. In saying the above facilities and views more than compensate.

Absolutely beautiful property, would 100 book again. The view over the bay is stunning and the hot tub kept the children entertained. We were very sad to leave.

A wonderful large house for an extended family group. The spacious bedrooms are set over three floors, so our group all had their own level.The roof terrace is amazing, especially if you are blessed with good weather. Wonderful facilities in the house a and huge garden with squirrels...the children loved it. Everything very positive, except poor WiFi and very hot bedrooms on the ground floor and first floor superking...we would bring electric fans if we came back again.

The Sparrows Nest is a little piece of Heaven! We had the best stay here. There's almost no need to leave the house. From relaxing in the hot tub to sunbathing on the terrace to enjoying some delicious barbecues. I'd come back in a heartbeat. Thank you!

We had a wonderful NYE stay at Sparrows Nest. The house had everything we could want, and all top quality! Kids and adults all more than catered for. Really great location Carbis Bay or St Ives only a short walk away. Cornish arms a must visit for a pint! Hot tub is wicked to sit in day or night. We will be back.

An excellent holiday house for a big family. Three generations were celebrating a significant birthday. Lots of safe outside space for the wee ones to run around. Inside had every facility, you could possibly need with kitchen and eating areas superbly fitted out. The wrap around balconies and top level outside sitting area have superb views over Carbis Bay. The bedrooms and beds in particular were very comfortable. Lots of clear instructions for all the new high spec equipment.

Beautiful property! Has everything you could need. Kitchen well equipped and loved the open plan space. Plenty of bedrooms with great views of the sea. Lovely hot tub in the garden. Building work ongoing near the property, but was not disruptive. Short walk to the nearest beach, great not having to get into a car. Would definitely stay here again!

What an amazing holiday! Sparrows nest, despite its sleek, modern design, never failed to feel warm and cosy absolutely perfect for relaxing after a long day at the beach or walking around St Ives. Snacks and a few cheeky drinks up on the terrace is unmatched, the spectacular view at sunset being a must whether it's the hot tub, the BBQ or the fire pit, Sparrows Nest has something for all of the family to enjoy and I hope whoever is reading this has an amazing stay as we have. What a fabulous week! Sparrows Nest is an amazing house, beautifully furnished and very well equipped, both inside and out. Loved our cocktails in the hot tub! Just a 15minute walk to the beaches and into St Ives. Outside shower very helpful to rinse down the kids after surfing. Will have many happy memories of our stay. Thankyou!
