Spernenwyn Reviews

Tracey
The accommodation was stunning. Lots of space for the five of us! Hot tub was fab and used every night. Note to owners the lovely lights around hot tub werent working so could do with new ones Great to have space to park 2 cars. Had everything we needed. Will be back. Note to future guests, get a taxi back up the STEEP hill only 3.76!
In general the accommodation is great with an excellent location and two car parking spaces. We had six adults and a toddler and had plenty of space for us all. I feel the only thing that let's this property down is the standard of cleanliness giving it a score of 8 out of 10.With a little effort it would easily go from a great stay to an outstanding one.

We loved the House in general. There were 4 of the spotlights in the kitchen not working. Plug hole in main shower upstairs appeared blocked water kept overflowing the tray. There was dust on many of the plastic plants and cobwebs in the conservatory. But apart from these minor things we did enjoy our stay and being so close to the beach where my grandson had surfing lessons was a bonus.
Andrea
Perfect property in a prime location of St Ives with parking. Positives quiet location, sea views, hot tub, 5 minutes walking distance to the town and beach. Negatives cobwebs throughout the conservatory and on ceiling fan so we were unable to use that room, high dusting had not been done, plugdrain in ensuite shower blocked and overflows and the exterior of the property and garden although beautiful seemed unloved, overgrown and many spider webs.
Philip
The property was superb, although being tall upstairs was interesting. Would have liked 2 more loo rolls , a kitchen roll and a kitchen spraycleaner as we had to buy these, but never seen so many dishwasher tablets
There is a steep hill to Get to the beaches. Seagulls very noise at night No available parking in and around St Ives to park the car while wait to get into property at 4pms The property was lovely clean and plenty of space for everyone x There was a lovely pub just outside St Ives call the engine lovely food and friendly staff
Comfortable place to stay. This is our second at your lovely home. We had everything needed. Kitchen well equipped. Plenty of crockery and cooking equipment. Hot tub fabulous. Plenty of private outside space too.
Lovely property, very well equipped with 2 parking spaces. Well situated to be able to walk into St Ives. Comfortable beds, plenty of seating in the 2 lounge areas. Pretty private outside area with small garden and hot tub.

We went to this lovely property with daughter and family for a week. The open living space and kitchen area really make the place amazing because when you cook, you can still be enjoying the family fun. The real garden with trees and lots of beatiful plants and grass was wonderful compared to modern day, easy maintainence concrete spaces. Spernenwyn absolutely had everything we needed to really enjoy a great break in beautiful Cornwall. If you want me to be picky, then Id say thicker quilts on the beds for September bookings, and sort both sets of taps in the kitchen, as one doesnt work and the other one splashes enough to need a bath mat on the worktop and floor. The living room is really comfy which you need after a busy day. The light switches are all labelled very thougtful. I did the cooking and loved the kitchen area with all the space. We are booking next year as soon as we sort out parking for a third car for our other daughter to join us. Thank you for a great stay from Elaine, Aurel, Elena, Simon, Selena and Matteo

I wish we had found your property sooner! . It truly is home from home. We were so impressed with how much thought had gone into the comforts and requirements of holidaymakers. Even fine details such as the books, games, toiletries, hot tub, welcome pack ....... beautifully decorated home and well kept gardens. Honestly it was exceptional. Each one of us said straight away that we would definitely return to this property again. Thankyou. PS. Whoever did the cleaning deserves a special mention!!
Justine
Lovely house in a fab location! We were a family of 5 2 parents, 2 children and a grandparent. The house was suitable for all. Lots of space and the open plan worked better than I expected we have family nearby and they were able to visit us. Lots of films and games which we took advantage of due to back to back storms meaning we didn't get out as much as we had planned. The sofas are soft for relaxing in the living area, but firmer in the conservatory if preferred, and the large dining table is great to seat everyone around. The kitchen has everything you'd need and more. The tea, coffee and milk provided on arrival were much appreciated! The bathrooms were clean and had mini soaps etc. Showers good and bath amazing! The beds are all zip up which is in the description, so you do feel the join in the doubles. We all slept OK though. Hot tub was a hit and used most days. The garden and parking are great features to the property as I'm informed there aren't many of either in the area. At most a 10 minute walk to Porthmear beach one way or the town centre the other direction a bit longer coming back up the hills! We are certainly considering returning. A couple of tips if you do come here follow signs to Tate St Ives from the A30 it avoids the town center book evening meals in advance go to the surf school visit St Ives bakery walk around all the seafront and Harbour. Enjoy this wonderful part of the country! Spernenwyn has everything you could need as a home from home. The only things we missed were oven gloves and a bottle brush to clean our reusable water bottles. One thing to note is if you have younger children all the external doors 5 around the property can be opened from the inside.
Super house in a great location. The garden must be delighful in the summer. Parking for 2 cars is pretty tight, but doable. Look forward to visiting again
