Just returned from Southern Halt, stayed in 11 Faraway Fields. The site is so peaceful and non commercialised, its the perfect place to spend a few days relaxing. The lodge was fully equipped with everything we needed, the hot tub is the perfect addition. The location was great too, visited some National Trust places and went into Looe. Would definitely be happy to return to Southern Halt.

What an absolutely fabulous place. Spotlessly clean and with everything you need. This really is a luxury stay. The bed is lovely and looking out into nature. The decking is fully enclosed for dog and the hot tub has privacy. Also had a washer dryer which isnt in the listing. We got our dog the dog welcome pack and he loved his new toys and blanket!

This is our 4th visit to 11 Faraway Fields and it is just as good. The location is ideal for visiting both coasts and The gate to fully enclose the decking is a great addition our little dog cannot escape!. It would be nice if both bedroom guests were treated the same, i.e. robes, tv and toiletries, but having said this we had a lovely time and hopefully will be back again..

Overall was very good. A few things could have improved this batteries in one of the TV remotes were dead, only 2 robes but 4 adults booked in and the first step very steep and needed a gravel fill in. One guest with hip problems found it difficult. Brilliant area for dog, all safely fenced in. None of the above spoiled our holiday, just areas that could have made a great stay an excellent stay. Would consider staying again if we come back to UK, we came from Australia for family reunion.

Overall a lovely stay, a couple of minor improvements would be that the couches arent that comfortable and it was very hot a couple of days of our stay and we struggled quite badly to cool the lodge so much so we left early ceiling fans or fans generally would have helped massively or air con would be even better.

11 Faraway Fields is a delightful, secluded property perfectly located for exploring the beautiful Cornish coast and scenery. We immediately felt relaxed and comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. We decided within minutes that we would return to this same lodge soon and for longer. It was excellent value for money. The layout and standard of maintenance of Southern Halt is exceptional. Tips for improvement more equipment in the kitchen. A cheese grater and some plastic cups and plates would be useful. The description did not include washing machine and also advised to bring some items that were provided. Although clean enough, property could be cleaner. Skirting boards, kitchen cupboards and fridge need a thorough wipe over. Loved it!! Thank you

Cabin is in a lovely position, very private. Inside, the cabin is bright and airy with a nice outlook. Everything was clean apart from the bin in the ensuite which was reported on departure and the management was very apologetic and ensured it would be addressed. The towel rail did not work in the ensuite. Kitchen was well equipped and there was milk in fridge which was a nice touch. The EV charging unit was not working but once reported to reception I was directed to a nearby vacant cabin which I used for the duration of our stay to charge the car. The hot tub was great on the first evening although we struggled to work out the controls as there was no guidance. An outside light would have been useful. The following day the hot tub did not seem to keep its temperature and the control panel was intermittent and was difficult to turn off. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and would return. We reported the issues we had before departure at reception who were really helpful and assured us would be looked into. The site itself was well maintained and pretty with a nice layout of plants, streams and a pond. We found an excellent place to eat nearby, The Halfway House and there are lots to great places to visit within easy reach. For a quiet escape this site is ideal.

Stayed for a week with my family and our dog, was absolutely gorgeous and didnt need anything. Staff were very helpful and very polite. It is very central for wherever you need to go around Cornwall and was lovely to come back to after a full day out exploring the towns and beaches. Would recommend this property to anyone. Lovely memories were made here.

Simply the best lodge I've ever stayed in. It is so comfortable and well equipped. Lovely homely touches left by welcoming staff. Very private location so felt comfortable using the lovely hot tub. Would highly recommend and will certainly book again.

We came last year with our dog, there was no gate then but they did put something we could pull across, this year a proper gate has been fitted. The deck is large and hot tub is great. Lovely site private and quiet not overlooked. Clean site. Defo recommend

Lovely lodge, which they have made more dog friendly with a sturdy gate added to the entrance of the decking, so the hot tub can be enjoyed without having to leave your dog inside the lodge, they can wonder around the decking while you enjoy the bubbles! Looking forward to the future planned developments which will include a wooded walk area.

Great holiday at 11 faraway fields the lodge was very clean and everything was provided for a comfortable and relaxing stay, would recommend and stay again.

Had a lovely stay. Couldnt do much about the weather but the accommodation was excellent. Just a note A couple of usb points would have been nice.

Absolutely beautiful lodge with own hot tub which was really hot right outside our bedroom. Very private plot, not overlooked and was dog friendly so we could bring our boy. Also has own EV charger which we werent expecting thought theyd be at reception and this should be advertised more as its a real draw. Having said that ours wasnt working but we were sorted out with a neighbouring one immediately. Very comfortable King size bed, very well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and towels, shampoos and robes provided. The lodge was super clean and comfortable. You can walk to local pubshop 15mins and waterfall 45mins but be aware pub kitchen closes at 6 in the winter! Eden project 30 mins by car, beach 15 mins. We had an amazing break drinking wine in our hot tub and looking at the stars and visiting the beautiful Cornish countryside. Highly recommended!

This is our third visit to Southern Halt & it certainly wont be our last. Lodge was exactly as described & spotlessly clean. A few days before our arrival the lady from Reception called me to ask if there was anything more we needed... I mentioned my concern of no gate across the decking exit so our dog couldn't escape! Our 4th time at Southern Halt. Super site, nice maintained and so peaceful. This lodge was perfect for us and nestled beautifully to offer you privacy when using your decking area and hot tub. Gorgeous lodge, very clean, plenty of storage and quality comfortable furnishings. The lodges are so well insulated that quilts provided are too high a tog and therefore made you hot when sleeping. Would benefit from a few small tumbler glasses and small bowls for cereal and serving food. Everything else was fantastic. We are planning our return.

The lodge was clean and very comfortable, had everything we needed and lovely and private, the site was well maintained. There was no gate to stop the dog getting out we didn't want to tie him up for two weeks but Sally sorted that out with the maintenance man and all was well. We had a lovely holiday in the lodge, and would recommend it.

We had a lovely 3 nights at 11 Faraway Fields, in Cornwall. Property was immaculate inside, great facilities in the kitchen, lovely bathrooms, everything was clean and comfortable for our family of four and a dog. Plenty of space for everyone and a great base for exploring Cornwall. We enjoyed the quiet setting of the location and a lovely treat to come back to the hot tub each evening. Would definitely love to come back and stay and such a lovely place again!

Absolutely lovely site,very well kept and clean surroundings. The lodge itself was very spacious and had everything we needed for our stay and the hot tub was wonderful on an evening looking up at the sky,the milky way was right above us! Hi, We had a nice stay in the southern halt holiday cabin which was spacious, comfortable, clean and set in beautiful surroundings. Just a couple of improvements needed to achieve a 5 star feedback 1. A lack of a handrail on the entrance steps make it difficult for my wife who currently has mobility issues to get up without assistance. 2. The lack of an option to charge an electric car. Normally this would not be such an issue if there was a reliable public charger nearby, but the closest ones were in Bodmin around 10miles away and they were either not working or occupied most of the time. Half way through the week I had no choice but to waste a morning on my own without impaciente kids just to charge the car in an industrial estate in Bodmin. Most places we visited in Cornwall had a lack of available destination chargers so we could have really done with a top up charge every night, even if it was just from a 3 pin external socket. Ideally there should be a couple of Type 2 chargers at the entrance available to guests to use at a reasonable cost. As the EVs become more popular this really will be an essential service needed in all holiday destinations.
