The Wink Reviews

Jonathan
What a beautiful conversion on the farm building to make lovely holiday accommodation in a beautiful tranquil setting within easy walks of the village and cape cornwall, the hosts are lovely and welcoming with a lovely cornish hamper waiting for us on arrival. 5
Wink Cottage was a home from home. The hosts Lorna & Harvey couldn't have been more hospitable to us thank you so much! I even had a visit to the farm with Harvey's Dad which was great. Thank you for the great stay, we'd 100 booking again.
Wonderful stay in this beautiful converted barn. Everything was very tasteful and we especially enjoyed cooking on the everhot and the wood fired hot tub. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Lovely stay at the wink , owners very accommodating and helpful. Beautiful local produce on arrival. Great location for exploring cape Cornwall walks and local beaches.
Fabulous, comfortable cottage a hop, skip and jump from the SW Coast Path. On arrival we received the best welcome in person and a huge trug filled with delicious local Cornish produce. Great communication from lovely hosts with directions and recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Decor is tasteful and the reclining sofa was so comfy as was bed. Great bathroom with double shower. Well equipped kitchen and we loved the Everhot range. Near to pretty St Just you can walk across the fields to it and so well located in glorious countryside. I could go on and on. One of the best cottages weve stayed in. We will be back. Thanks to Lorna and Harvey for sharing this wonderful place. Book it!
Jacqueline
We have had a fabulous time at the wink this week. We booked for my 60 th birthday. It was certainly one to remember.! Beautiful cottage, which was just outstanding ! The double showers were amazing with very hot water. The bath was luxurious. Bed extremely comfortable. The kitchen facilities top quality and all perfect, and the fire was also just superb!. The surrounding area provides an amazing location with fantastic walks every which way . The owner visited us once to make sure we were comfortable. There was a lovely welcome hamper full of delicious food and treats on arrival. Simply the best cottage holiday we've had so far.
We had another peaceful stay at The Wink again.

The bungalow was amazing so cosy with everything you could possibly need in a kitchen Lorna was the perfect host nothing was too much trouble and gave me a master class how to work the oven and coffee machine The bed was super comfy and the location was stunning we will definitely return and certainly would recommend the beautiful cottage The Wink in the fabulous little village of St Just Thank you we had a wonderful week and did not want to come home Mandy and Ronnie x x
Firstly i would like to thank the owners for a lovely stay in a clean well appointed cottage. 3 of us travelled couple & lurcher dog we had a wonderful time thankyou. The cottage itself is very well layed out with fantastic facilities, nothing is left short down to provision of salt & pepper & a great selection of kitchen products washing up liquid & ttowels & kitchen roll, dishasher tablets etc all provided. The welcome basket is a great addition & a lovely surprise on arrival chocolate was lush!!. Bathroom is lovely with walk in shower for washing feet etc & the bath was nice to soak in. We didnt use the jacuzzi so cant comment but looked great if needed. Used the barbecue facility twice & couldnt have been happier cooking with a glass of rose under the late cornwall sun. Location is great if you have a dog, with numerous public footpaths & lanes nearby where you can meet the donkeys & horses. About 30 mins walk into St Just which is a beautiful cornish traditional village which has good facilities including the co op which we used daily & chinese takeaway one night. The ice cream in the moomaid cafe was stunning & theres a variety of places to eat & drink in the village & a nice gift shop too!. We would consider returning again, we had such a lovely time & didnt want to leave its that nice here.
Roseanne
The cottage was lovely in a good area for walking. The owner leaving a welcome pack was a nice touch, and dropping by when we arrived. Its a good location for restaurants etc . I would book again
Upon arriving at the property a bit dissappointed at the location. From the pictures, I was expecting to have more of a view. The property is set surrounded by various other properties in very close proximity. The inside is very tastefully appointed, with very high quality appliances, only negative inside was the aga was on constantly so quite hot on a hot day, even when turned down. The outside is very small with wooden benches without any cushions, so not very comfortable and could benefit from having couple of sunbeds.2 basic folding chairs in shed. The hot tub is a small wood burning type and so did not use. We arrived on the Friday, but did not meet one of the owners until the Sunday and would have hoped to meet on arrival to run through, things like the hot tub, cooker Smeg coffee machine etc, as not items used before at various other rentals. If you are wanting to do lots of walking great location. Great recommendations for restaurants best meals at The Goldophin, The Old Coastguard, Crab Shed, Portmeor Beach Cafe all accepted dog
The Wink is a gorgeous property with everything you need for a stress free stay. A perfect base for walking along the coast path from the door. Couldn't recommend this properly highly enough.
Darrell
The Wink was a lovely surprise! It has everything you need in a holiday let and more. A small, but comfortable cottage thats decorated to a high standard. With all the appliances you could ask for, it really is a home from home. It has plenty of room for a couple with a dog and comes with two showers and a large bath. As well as a log burner for those cold evenings, the property has a logfire hot tub too! however we didn't get to try it out this time. Our hosts kindly supplied us with a few essential items, such as milk, bread, butter and a basket full of quality local produce. What a really nice touch! The location set within a stones throw from the town of St Just on a farmstead right on the south coast path is simply stunning! Beaches and walks are on the doorstep and you'll find history everywhere in the area, from bronze age barrows to remnants of old tin mines there's plenty to see. We had a fabulous week exploring the area and would highly recommend a stay at the Wink as an ideal base for your holiday.
Connor
Had a very lovely stay at the wink. On arrival was greeted with a lovely hamper with some bits and pieces in. Very clean holiday home, very spacious and beautifully designed. Would definitely stay again if in the area and would highly recommend.
The Wink is nestled in a lovely working farm and a stones throw from the wonderful St Just. I would heartily reccomend a good walk around the village. Please do use the shops there. I can personally recommend the fish and chips, The dog and rabbit cafe and the Star Inn. And you must visit the church yard and the Kurt Jackson Gallery. The Wink provides luxury and comfort so cosy you probably won't even need to light the fireplace. The hosts are there if you need them and most helpful if you do. The surrounding area will keep you busy in the summer or winter and the Nature flora and fauna is stunning. The hosts welcome pack is very generous. The bed is super comfy. And the bath accommodates a lovely bubbly soak after a day of walking the coastal path. The kitchen has all the equipment you could possibly need and the cooking range is so nice to use. Thank you so much xx
Amazing place to spend the week. Really well kept
Loved our stay at The Wink, so much so that we have booked again for the same time next year. We took our dog there to get away from the fireworks and it was perfectly situated for the peace. Great country walks with stunning views right outside the door.
We loved our holiday at The Wink. The location was perfect with the coastal path so close. The owners had thought of everything to make this stunning holiday home special, cosy, comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful kitchen, gorgeous bathroom and a real treat to stay in.
Christine
Beautiful, peaceful place with everything you could need. Lots of lovely walks. Really helpful information book at the property. We had a great stay.
Really well equipped and excellent welcome pack of luxury groceries
Alastair
The Wink was amazing the moment we entered, it had the wow factor! , despite having arrived in the rain and mist. The layout of the accommodation was well thought out and executed, the ability to close the outer sliding doors and the Velux roof blinds allows the loungekitchen area to be sufficiently dark at night for our little dog to sleep through, the nice long walks helped. Very comfortable bed, and great bathroom, especially the large shower enclosure, always plenty of hot water throughout the day. Nice touch to have bath robes supplied, especially for going outside to use the hot tub. Great kitchen area with the Everhot range. Well stocked with all the utensils we needed. The best welcome basket we have experienced anywhere in self catering accommodation, all top quality locally sourced items. The walled patio area outside was ideal, and safe for the dog and a nice sun trap for most of the day, we managed to use the hot tub, without difficulty, plenty of easy instructions and useful information in the guest book. One of the outstanding benefits was the quiet location on the farm, no traffic noise, very peaceful, great access straight onto the SWCP at the end of the lane, great walks with stunning views. A very easy 1012 minute walk into St Just with all the essentials, and great pubs, so no real need to be constantly using a car. Lorna, the owner came round shortly after we arrived, to see we were settled in OK, and husband Harvey also passed by during the week. They have gone to great lengths and much thought has gone into presenting this first class accommodation on their farm, it is certainly the best we have stayed in over the years we've been visiting Cornwall. We will most definitely recommend The Wink and hope to return. One last thing, the Cape Cornwall rum that is produced on the farm is excellent!
Stefan
The Wink An absolutely wonderful house in a fantastic location in Kernow! Firstclass facilities, very clean and the cottage really leaves nothing to be desired. Lorna & Harvey are absolutely firstclass and very nice landlords, very friendly and take care of things immediately if there is anything. A successful holiday and stay in Kernow really couldn't be better...and that's exactly why we booked again during our wonderful stay! All in all, The Wink was one of the most beautiful houses where we have spent our holidays in Kernow in all the many years. Thank you for everything Lorna & Havey! We'll see each other again and are already looking forward to being your guests again... Best wishes, Stefan, Ulrike & Bolchen
Delightful cottage. We were very comfortable there. Well placed with some lovely walks. A lovely spot. It was perfect for us.

Shared drive to the property is very rough and pot holey
Very lovely stay at a beautiful property in a fantastic location what more can I say .
The Wink was the best property we have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated and had everything you could need. We were provided with a very generous welcome pack on arrival. Lots of great walks and lovely tin mines. Would love to return
Beautiful property and extremely well equipped. It truly is a home from home with every detail thought of. The owners, Lorna & Harvey are on hand for advice on places to eat or for things to do. Nothing is too much trouble. Possibly one of the best cottages we have stayed in.
Beautiful place finished to a very high spec, excellent welcoming basket, happy to recommend and would certainly return
We had a fantastic stay over Christmas in The Wink. The property exceeded our expectations. Communication with the owner was very good. We particularly loved the attention to detail and quality of fixtures and fittings. A major selling point for us was having its own EV charger that worked perfectly. We would highly recommend a stay at this property.
Alexander
Had a great relaxing week down at the Wink. Cottage has everything we could have wanted. A great base to explore the area from and is great being in walking distance of the lovely St Just. Very dog friendly and owner couldn't have been more helpful
What a wonderful week my husband, our dog Bryn and I had at the Wink. We were greeted by a lovely box full of thoughtful edible goodies which was very unexpected but gratefully received. The Wink is well laid out with lovely furnishings and everything you need is there for you to use. The bed is lovely and comfortable and we both slept lovely all week. The hot tub was a lovely addition and a really relaxing treat to have in the evening it takes a good couple of hours or more to warm up so bear that in mind . The surrounding area is stunning. It really is worth you doing a tour of the mines, it will amaze you. Lorna and her husband are very accommodating, if you run out of wood for the burner or tub then you just ask for more. We cant wait to stay The Wink next year.
The cottage was absolutely stunning, everything we needed was there and upon arrival there were a lovely food hamper, full of lovely local produce. Actually met Harvey who welcomed us and asked us to contact him if we needed anything. Lovely cottage, fantastic location ideal for walks, cottage on an actual working farm bonus for all us animal lovers, owned by lovely people who cant do enough for you. Would definitely recommend!
Property was excellent.
William
Fabulous property. Everything you could need and more. Will recommend to family and friends
Our first visit to south Cornwall and it could not have been more special. The Wink is a delightful base to explore all this amazing part of the county has to offer. I highly recommend the Wink for it's quiet location, high standard of accommodation and genuinely helpful owners.
Michelle
Stunning property. Contemporary decor but in a traditional setting. Lovely warm underfloor heating kept us cosy and the range was a joy to use after a long day. This area of Cornwall is breathtaking.
Philip
Weve stayed at a lot of high end properties over the years and this one comes near the top. Couldnt find any fault. Very high quality fit and finish. Great attention to detail and a top location. Really enjoyed our stay.
Lesley
A beautifully presented cottage with a lovey welcome pack. Super location with so much to do and explore. We enjoyed our week in luxurious accommodation with everything we needed. The hot tub was fun and the hosts could not have been more helpful. We hope to visit again very soon.
Michael
There are no words to describe just how fabulous this cottage is. We stayed for Christmas and arrived at midnight after a 5hr journey to a beautifully lit Christmas tree, a wonderfully warm cottage and a welcome box full of the most amazing and thoughtful goodies. The property is immaculate, everything is just that more lovely than youd hope, the kitchen is full of brilliant utensils.. all lined up and sparkly clean!! Made me smile at the thoughtfulness of the owner and the time spent making guests stays all that more memorable. Wonderfully quiet and a few steps through the gate is THE most incredible view and wonderful walks around Cape Cornwall. Two minute drive into St Just which is full of super cute shops, pubs and a fab Coop. The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring Cornwall. We travel all over the country with our dog and have stayed in many cottages over the years this is the very best for location, luxury and all round relaxation. We WILL go back.. didnt want to leave!
