Elvan Cottage, Liskeard

Elva cottage was so comfortable had everything you needed Matt was very welcoming and helpful it was quiet being out in the country I would recommend this cottage to anyone who likes the country.

A fun and quirky cottage, all amenities were well thought through. We were met on arrival and shown through the cottage by Matt who was super attentive to our needs. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the lovely gardens with the hot tub. All in all a very relaxing spring break in beautiful Cornwall.

We really enjoyed staying at Elvan Cottage. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub. The cottage is very well laid out with some individual and quirky design features. I would recommend Elvan Cottage for family groups and couples. The cottage also has a kennels and cattery close by so if you need care of Dogcat during your stay it is available.

Clean, comfortable, cosy and full of character. Elvan Cottage is a great base for exploring the area. Its very peaceful but is close to the A38 for quick and easy access. The bed was comfy, the kitchen well equipped and the hot tub a lovely luxury at the end of the day. Matt made us very welcome, calling before we arrived to give directions, check bedding arrangements etc and gave us a personal tour on arrival. The only downside was the flaky copper cable internet but we had enough mobile signal to use data instead when necessary. We really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely lovely place to stay in a very peaceful location, hosts Matt, brother and Sausage the cat very welcoming nothing too much trouble, if down that way again would definitely stay there highly recommend.

We booked both cottages for our family after a previous visit. Both cottages were delightful, clean, great location and had everything we needed and more. As we had booked both we had the full garden area including hammocks, hot tub and bar area etc to ourselves. The space is really safe for children of which we had a young 1.5 year old with us who loved being free. When we next visit Cornwall this will be the first place we try to book. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elvan Cottage. Matt is a very welcoming and attentive host. The cottage is comfortable in a quiet location and central for many attractions including the coast, the moor and the Eden Project. Recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at Elvan cottage, Matt and Dan were great hosts! The cottages x2 are beautifully renovated and hold everything you could wantneed for your stay. Visits from the 2 cats, Dominic and sausage were a joy. We will be back as soon as we can.

Lovely cottage, very well renovated and furnished. Underfloor heating in living space is great. Hot tub and outdoor area work well. Welcomed by the owner who was very helpful throughout our stay.

We stayed at this amazing cottage for a week. Matt, our host, was very welcoming and friendly. On arrival, there was complimentary milk, fresh juice, biscuits and flowers. The cottage was spotless and provided everything and more, needed for our stay. The farm cats Dominic and Sausage were an added bonus for us cat lovers. Both are very friendly. The hot tub was luxurious, and has great views. 1010. Looking forward to staying again soon.

Elvan cottage is a beautifully decorated and well thought out holiday home. The property has everything we needed and was central to everywhere we wanted to visit for our second week in Cornwall. Nothing was more than an hour away! The outside space was ideal for our two lively children 10 and 6 with the hot tub and gardens appreciated. We even managed a BBQ! Thanks for a great welcoming stay. We miss sausage the Cat already!

Great place to stay to discover Cornwall from. Regular visit from the cats always very welcoming. Matt and Dan very accommodating. Cottage was outstanding. Only two things we would recommend, a mirror in the main bedroom and possibly an air fryer after setting the smoke alarm off twice when using the grill, our fault as we stopped using the oven grill at home. Think we gave Matt and Dan a fright.

Such an amazing property with so many quirks. Photos don't do it justice. Just beautiful. Great location to visit loads of wonderful places and owners were friendly and helpful. Would definately return. Such a happy holiday. Would 100 recommend! We have 2 young children who loved it just as much as us. Especially the telephones and phone box! Hot tub was huge and outside area fantastic.

Amazing character, rebuilt from the ground up with a lot of old rustic features and modern comforts and clever technology. We had a lovely week, quiet location but within easy reach of many attractions. Owner on site, great guy.

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage with many quirky features. Matt, the host was very helpful and we enjoyed a lovely week in this peaceful cottage. A good base for visiting north and east Cornwall, and Sausage, the resident cat, welcomed us back every day on our return.

Really enjoyed our stay at Elvan Cottage. The cottage itself had everything needed for a family of four. The quirks of the telephones to the rooms were entertaining! Outside there was plenty of space for two energetic boys to throw a ball around and the hot tub was most welcome! The cottage is set in a great location with the A38 only a few minutes away giving links to East and West as well as Bodmin Moore and Looe and the amazing coastline. Matt and Dan were very welcoming. I would not hesitate in recommending this to others

What an amazing cottage. Loved all the quirky bits including the telephones. Such cool decor and well thought out. After 25 years of holiday cottagesapartmentslodges etc in the UK this is probably in the top 3. Highly recommended. Matt and Dan are great guys and of course we can't not mention Sausage the cat. Thank you for everything. We look forward to returning as soon as we can.

What a fabulous cottage, highly recommend staying here. Matt is a fab host and the cottage is a home from home with all modern facilities in a country setting. Charming cottage, very comfortable and located in a great place to move around Cornwall. We loved it and will be back!

We loved our stay at Elvan Cottage. It's clear to see that this place during construction has been a labour of love. Matt and Dan have struck a perfect balance between modern and rustic charm. Yes it's got all you would expect from a top class stay but also many of the original buildings features, exposed beams some beautiful original doors. I won't spoil it for you but even the smallest room in the cottage has had so much time and thought put in to it, that it's a joy every time you open the door. There are tech treats also with TVs in every bedroom and in the lounge, kitchen diner. Antique telephones adorn the bedrooms and kitchen but not just for decoration purposes they actually work and not only work but you can control the outside lights by dialing a number. What witchcraft is this....? Very clever stuff. During our stay the weather was awful but the cottage was warm dry and welcoming with a combination of underfloor heating and radiators, the shower room was large a the shower powerful. All the boxes for a perfect stay were ticked. We didn't use the facilities outside but there's a hot tub and changing shed, outside honesty bar, and two BBQs gas and charcoal, all shared with the adjoining cottage. The WiFi was a little hit and miss but this was explained by Matt on arrival. This didn't cause any issues but could if you really needed a good connection. The cottage is conveniently located off the A38 just a 10min drive from Liskeard in the beautiful Cornish countryside yes the short drive from the main road is narrow but it's probably less than a mile and very quiet. We found getting to most of the Cornish hotspots quick and easy from Elvan cottage we would stay again in a heartbeat. The photos on Sykes are good but see for yourself and you will be finding new things in the property for days... Thanks Matt, Dan and Sausage the cat we hope to see you again. We had both cottages this week, me and my daughter we had an amazing time now this is the fourth time Ive been back and hope to go back many more times. Its just so chilling and lovely and Mat and Dan and dad and sausage and Dom of all amazing

Lovely cottage everything you need and more idealy situated for trips to Looe, Polperro, Bodmin and much more quiet and peaceful hide away.

This was our second visit to Elvan Cottage. Good on site hosts Matt and Dan who are always up for a chat and good to see the cats again, Sausage and Dominic. Sausage the cat spent quite a lot of time in the cottage with our son while we were there. A great and quiet base location for exploring Cornwall and Devon. Golitha Falls and Carnclaze Cavern are both worth a visit as they are local and Golitha is free. Arriving back at the cottage after a long day out we like to relax and use the hot tub and also the internet. However, the internet was almost non existent for most of our stay this year and we ended up connecting using mobile data. I would still recommend this property as its a lovely location. There are thousands of places to visit near and far and we just scratched the surface. When you book this place you wont be disappointed.

Hidden gem of a cottage. All the facilities that were needed are provided. Lots of space in the rooms and great outdoor space. Handy for A38, which enables you to explore Cornwall. Matt was really helpful, a great host.

Fantastic place to stay, with most places to visit within 30 minutes max. Matt and the cat very welcoming, very quiet and the hot top is a fantastic bonus.

Really lovely cottage and the owners were really helpful with some homey quirks in the cottage and surrounding grounds to look out for! The Surround sound was a nice surprise as we enjoy music with boardgames and dinner. Any questions we had were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Easy driving distance from the eden project and lost gardens of Heligan. I'd recommend a visit if you stay here
